I'm guessing it means cleaned and re-plated. I guess it also fixes all the wear and damage on the coin too? I have some other coins that could use that bondo quick coin fix stuff. Bad thad can ya hook me up.LOL

reprocessed cents are just as said above, they are cleaned and replated. You can usually tell the ones that have had this done because the edge will be replated also )where the original would be missing the zinc coating

 Why do people do that?

Quote: welp that being said there is no plating on the edge of these So when you look at the edge you can see two or possibly three layers of metal similar to the clad type arrangement we have on the dime and quarter? All three layers silvery in color but with the center layer having a duller gray appearance? Because frankly after looking at the pictures again, I'm still thinking reprocessed. Real Unc steel cents don't have a shiny appearance like that. That one shines and I don't see evidence of true luster.

If that's the case, they would be virtually worthless.

So, is it safe for me to assume, these should be treated like any other numi, and not cleaned? I have a few steel pennies, and they look like crap, so what's the consensus? leave 'em alone?

Let me guess, dark grey? I would just leave them alone. More keepsake at that point.

Yea, dark grey and discolored, I'm thinking to just leave 'em be, as I know cleaning a coin reduces it value

I got a great buy on some steel cents on ebay about a year ago. I got a complete set of 1943 PDS Lincolns all slabbed MS 67 by NGC for the sum total of.... drumroll please... ...$149. That's right. One hundred and forty nine dollars insured and delivered! The S alone is worth that much to me. But stay away from ebay, because everything on there is a rip off and you can't find any good deals.
