The porosity is what would hold me back. If I'm going to pay full retail, it needs to at least have attractive surfaces. This planchet is porous/grainy.

keep in mind a majority of planchets from this era exhibit some type of corrosion or porosity. this one is not bad at all and a nice example of the early classic heads. it is even across the coin which helps and is not invasive. you will pay a premium if you can find a smooth planchet and thats if you can find one in VF or higher grades. the coin will details regardless of the porosity due to the other issues. if you have the funds and time to find a clean example I agree if you are going to pay full retail this is not the one I would select
