I understand that ICG grading is questionable at best, but still. I am eyeing this coin as it is very affordable for the grade. It is not a perfect coin by any means (couple of carbon spots at the back), but then again I will crack it out anyway and stick it in my album.

I'd put this at AU58/MS62. I'm sure ICG called it something ridiculous like MS64/65, no offense

The slab looks pretty scuffed up. Some of the reverse discoloration and apparent scratches could be slab scuffs.
I could see ICG in at MS-63RB. If the raw coin doesn't wear most of the milky reverse scuffs, that would be a fair grade. The carbon spots near "IC" of AMERICA and "EN" of CENT are more of an ongoing concern.
Nice coin.

Certainly not a coin I'd pay MS money for.

An acetone bath could remove the white crud if it is on the coin. I could see a price haggle about halfway between an AU-58 and MS-63 price, somewhere in the $30s.

Sounds about right. I say AU-58 because I'll bet there is broken luster across the high points, especially the cheek. The three carbon spots also detract.

Where are you guys getting an MS coin out of this IHC ? There is light minute wear on both obverse and reverse and other indications of it being lightly circulated . Fine , I'll raise my call to AU-55 .

Quote: I am eyeing this coin as it is very affordable for the grade. Because the coin is likely a 58 to 63 and the black spots can make it difficult to sell in the future. Are the white spots future issues? Pass
