This is definitely NOT a SELLER issue . Either ebay or USPS eats this one . Most likely the Carrier is toast !

I don't know if insurance would even cover this? I mean it's marked delivered. I would file a police report. Sadly the USPS is a shell of what it was. I really try to buy locally because of the way USPS has been lately (not today though, my package from CÁ took 3 days to get here, well maybe I shouldn't be shooting off fireworks yet, it's only out for delivery)

OP.... Thanks for the update. I know how frustrated you must be. Stay on top of this as it progresses thru the systems and don't take "no" for an answer (unless "no" is the answer you wanted!). Make sure you document dates/times/names and discussion topics. ebay has been known to "eat a loss" when the Seller and Buyer were neither at fault. Bottom line is USPS dropped the ball on this one in my opinion. Please keep us updated.

I thought USPS insurance only covered damage to items, not loss. Seems like another scam from the USPS. And nothing will happen to the carrier, they will get a pass and like any other government employee, they may even get a promotion. Funny how the USPS considers itself a government agency when it fits the narrative and a civil agency when that is more convenient.

Update..... The package showed up skin in Springfield Massachusetts yesterday.. The Post Office has no idea why... It hasn't gotten to me yet so I can't say with 100% certainty that it will. But I spoke with ebay and they now have confirmation that the package was never receive and offered a full refund if I choose so.. At this point I'm hoping to pack it shows up and hasn't been opened.. The saga continues..

Now I'm going to add something even more interesting to the mix.. I just did some research on USPS unknown 01153 which is where my package appeared this is some sort of a bulk mail the department in Massachusetts. Upon further research I have found several different Posys about lost packages that coincidentally all happen to be coins & end up at this place? I feel like I'm in the Twilight Zone what is going on?#129327;

SP74...
With it showing up in a mail center in Springfield Mass this proves 100% that the carrier that said "it was delivered" LIED to the supervisor AND postmaster.
I hope you eventually get your package intact and untampered with. I would only open that package in front or reputable uninterested witnesses, too.
Good luck and thanks for keeping us updated!

It would be interesting to hear the explanation as to why a "delivered" parcel is in a different state. I doubt that there will be any consequences for the carrier. Just a memory glitch, obviously...

I think 01153 is the PO in Hades. I hope there aren't too many Christmas cards in front of your package. The good news is it got a scan and will probably get delivered eventually.

At the end of every day, there is an End of Day report. This report shows every tracking number scanned arrived at unit that is to be delivered that day. Before the Postmaster/Supervisor can leave for the day he must verify that every tracking number has been scanned delivered or attempted. District watches and verifies that the EOD report is completed, if not, the PM gets a call at home and must go find that package/article, and get it delivered/scanned. Heads rolled in my District if you failed to scan an article, accepted, arrived, delivered. I had new a carrier fail to scan a package and I had to go to the address of delivery ask for the label so I could scan it delivered. And yes we had a theft problem in several offices, all out going mail on the same truck for all these offices. Discovered that the relieve driver and his ride along girl friend were stopping and opening mail and keeping the valuable items. The investigation last 6 months before they were caught and arrested. The new scanners we used in the Postal Service, I retired in 2015, I could look up the carriers location right down to the building they were in. The time they were there which end of the building. Made it easy to know if they were taking a long break, or deviating from the route, to visit there love ones. Technology, is useful but still quite intrusive. Webekin

Quote: Update..... The package showed up in Springfield Massachusetts yesterday I live in northwest CT and a few months ago I sent my tax info to my accountant also in CT. Very often these pieces of mail go out of state to Springfield MA and then back to CT. It took over a week to go about 20 miles and get delivered. When I looked more carefully at the tracking it actually went to Springfield MO not MA

At least that one ended well.
