Was watching a Sotheby's auction and a 1794 just went for $900,000.00 and a 1795 just went for $575,000.00. I now see what caught your attention to the low priced fakes. Of course those auctioned are PCGS MS65.

I didn't want to start a new thread, so I found the first "check out these fakes on ebay" thread to post this in. I don't know if this only happens at this hour or time of day(night), because during the day they seem to be mostly authentic. But typing in " Morgan silver dollar" with the 'ending soonest' filter and I would wager that half are fakes.. most get bid on and sold. how sad. it's not even hard to see on the jpgs with the 'zoom' tool: tooling marks, unnatural "pops/bubbles"/cracks in the die, obvious incorrect date punches and placement. sometimes you don't even have to use the zoom tool, you can see from the toning in the thumbnail! I usually report the really obvious ones but they almost never get removed.
