I've been through more than 100,000 of both denominations and am yet to find an XF or better. For the 2000 dollar at least, I think the early days of the Ian Rank Broadley portrait on dollar coins didn't result in great coins: I rarely see any nice 1999 dollar coins either, and the occasional nice one will be from a spent collection. The on the other hand wasn't commemorative so nice examples getting spent from collections. |

I'm not seeing any of these either ... according to the RAM's 2020-21 Annual Report still only another 100 000 produced which brings the total to still just under half a million so far (if the 2020 IRB effigy listed in their 2019-20 report is actually their 2020 JC effigy figures)!   |
