Thanks for the compliments everyone!

@Sel if I send it in as is, they have a service that guarantees it will not be given a lower grade than already assigned. A friend of mine a Has a piece with identical cameo contrast that PCGS graded as PL68 a couple months ago...that example has a couple slight distractions that I'd consider worthy of a whole grade point difference between that and my piece...I would send them in for re-grade side by side and hope the graders see the argument for 68+/69.even if the coin achieves 68+ it would be the solo finest and I'd probably send it right off to auction while it holds that solo status.

@silverwolf this coin would be ICCS ultra heavy cameo..in fact it even lacks the usual softening of cameo in the shower area on the Obverse..so it is above average not just in quality but also in strike. Unfortunately since the reverse doesn't have cameo PCGS will refuse to assign a CAM attribution..their standards are different.

@johnny I believe they've graded a single 1954 dollar as PL69.

@kbbpll that thing you see on the RE is just a tiny planchet roughness spot that didn't fully strike away..it is a common occurrence on PL coins and doesn't have any weight on the grade. The MS attribution is just something funny about their site, it does this for all Canadian PLs but in hand the slabs will always be a PLXX grade. We are one of the few countries to have PL coins issued as PL, most other places would think of a fresh cameo MS coin if you said PL..like DMPL Morgans. The US only has MSXXPL coins so I'd assume this is part of the reason their site calls our PLs MS on the site.

@jack I remember that story of the ICCS PL68 from long ago..it's one of the many cool stories you've posted over the years that has stuck with me. 1956 had some incredibly well made dollars, although these UHC 56s aren't a super rarity they'll always be the iconic type coin to have for the Lizzie dollars IMO and will be a collector favorite forever. I'd love to find a 57 just a third as frosty as this one..but I don't think one even exists!

Here Are a couple pics I took in hand...as you can see, this coin is just rediculous. The cameo even glows in the dark!

I poked around looking for opinions of value and after hearing a really outstanding estimate from someone knowledgeable, I have decided to send this coin to heritage auctions. It was a real pleasure to own this gem, one of the growing amount of highlights I've been lucky enough to handle. This coin is in my opinion one of the most spectacular prooflike dollars in existence. Even the strike is superior..if you compare this gem to other 56 UHCs you'll see it has a superior shoulder strike which in itself is rare.

She will be missed, truly the ultimate type coin. Keep your eyes peeled for it in the upcoming heritage sale! And wish me well with the results!

Happy I could share this beast with the forum.
