I admit to being curious. A hard to find but not cheap set?
Commemorative?

I didn't say it was cheap ;)

I think you'll be surprised, I only found about these a few months ago so I've been looking for the set of 4 coins (hint)

Portugal minted several 4-coin sets. Typically related to "Discovery" or Sports.

One final hint and then we all have to wait.

They were issued before the Carnation Revolution.

Really good guess, but I already have the 200 and 500. I do hope to get the 1000 in Portugal but that's not what I ordered.

The 11 discoveries sets are well worth their cost. Great coins. The 4 metals sets were a new idea at the time. But it can not be those, too recent.
The 1898 set is only 3 coins.

Before 1974, escudos and a set. There are the 50 escudos ones but the full set are 5 coins.
Perhaps the 1 escudo, 50, 20 and 10 centavos in silver?

No you must have known about those. I will have to wait and see.

It will be a little longer, the coins went back to the shop. They will reship again today. Looks like a DHL error.

If they are gold or even silver you may have difficulty getting them shipped to the USA. I gave up on that when I searched for shippers. Heard from some dealers that they do not sell precious metal coins to buyers there. Too much trouble.
