I could look at these examples all day ... I need to get my hands on some. This feels like some early currency with the artwork and history ... and just as appealing to me..

Many modern stocks and bonds are quite inexpensive. You can find them easily on ebay. Here's a bond for American Airlines that I purchased for under $5.

Here's one that just arrived. I posted a later PanAm stock towards the beginning of this thread. This one is from the 1940s, with a slightly different design. It also has a facsimile signature of Juan Trippe as president. Trippe was a well known aviator and headed PanAm until 1968. He was the driving force that convinced Boeing to develop the 747.

Just have to share this interesting piece and I should have some similar posts in the near future. Recently, a large number of steel printing plates from the American Bank Note Co. hoard have been posted on ebay. I managed to pick up a number of interesting ones and have had a few printed.

This is one of my favorites -- the central vignette from a stock or bond of the Curtiss Aeroplane Export Company. This was probably engraved in the 1920s, with a nice depiction of a Curtiss seaplane. I have only seen this appear on one rare specimen stock certificate (not in my collection).

In 2002, the X Prize Foundation hosted a flight marking the 75th anniversary of Charles Lindbergh's transatlantic solo flight. Erik Lindberg, Charles' grandson, piloted the flight, which he completed in half the time of the 1927 flight.

The X Prize Foundation (Erik was a board member) may have sold or prepared to sell stock to fund the event. Or this specimen certificate may have been created as a souvenir. I contacted the Foundation for more info but never heard back.
