It 12/29/2022 and I haven't ordered anything so I can do a recap of my 2022 goals.

Quote:
1) Get a slabbed 1909 S-VDB to complete the 2 full sets of small cents - Completed. This was a goal that was in the making for 45 years and I was happy to get it done.

Quote:
2) Get the missing 4 3 coins from the 7070- I felt the prices are too high on what is missing, so this just stayed the way it is and unless my local dealer gets the 3 missing coins, I'll just keep this one opened, I did get a nice 1803 large cent

3) Get the missing 2 coins from the 20th century type set (may do this first as its the lowest cost of the 5 "real" goals) - Completed Last coin needed was the 1921 Peace

4) Get the missing IHC/FE - I purchased a few but like the 7070, prices are higher than I feel comfortable buying, so might stay at 9 missing, I did get a beautiful proof.

5) Get a few large notes (Educational, Bison, Native American, Battleship) and the Abe Fractional) - I really didn't expect to get any of these but I did get a few beautiful notes.

Indeed.

Yeah. My not getting the opportunity for a 2022 Peace dollar was the letdown of the year.

My collecting goals for the rest of 2022:

1) Find a coin store in Israel (preferably up north) that I can buy coins (and/or banknotes) from at affordable price, and hopefully actually buy some
Found a place in Karmi'el (where I currently live) that supposedly sells coins, but they won't sell me any until at least Sunday, and I don't even know what their prices are. It's a watch store so I suspect the prices are probably pretty high.

I have addresses (one each) in Haifa and Tel Aviv (and a few in Jerusalem, but that's a bit too far) that I have confirmed are coin stores. I have yet to visit either.

Quote:
2) Find some more circulating commemorative coins in change (1 so far)
Still just the one. I can't entirely rule out getting more in the remaining hours, but since it's Saturday most shops would be closed.

Quote:
3) Write down the circulating date list for current Israeli coinage, start collecting it by date
Done, though I only just barely started on the sets.

Quote:
4) Figure out how to separate my previous and new collections on my Numista account
Done; was actually pretty easy.

Quote:
My main coin collection remains in Moscow, where (most of) it will stay for the foreseeable future; there had been almost no change to it since my last report.
Same.

Quote:
Goals for 2023 are on hold until I find out what Israeli coin shop inventory looks like, and/or whether I am in fact going to return to Moscow.
Still TBD.
