@bobby131313, Maybe it happens because about a half of the starting page of the site is filled with links to ebay and MaShops, but no single link to CCF trading pages...

Enough. You weren't here so don't speculate. It's gone now, no sense in maintaining something no one uses. It was plastered all over the place at the time though.

To do anything major at this point would likely require an act of God.

People also clamored for years for CCF merchandise. So I invested 100's of hours and paid money to create designs. The store opened and we sold 1 sweatshirt, 1 t-shirt and one pack of buttons in 6 years. Then I closed it down.

I can't believe how much money and time I wasted building things people had to have.

Grape, what do you think you're going to do? Sorry for all the questions, it's just good to know that a fellow CCF member, especially one that is around my age, is facing somewhat similar problems. Do you plan to continue selling on ebay?

(Side note, I finally received the toned cents that I bought from you about two years ago , they were at my grandparents house and I was finally able to visit them, they're gorgeous to say the least!)

My guess is it has something to do with the presale Morgan and Peace dollars. This sounds like a nightmare situation.

I just got suspended as well, permanently and the only explanation was a "divergence," whatever that means. I've been on ebay 20 years with 100% feedback mostly buying and selling the occasional book, coin or music cd.
Anyone have any advice on where else I can sell coins, really low volume, mostly just items I'm moving out of my collection?

You can try here. Read and understand the selling rules before you list anything.

They did the same thing to me and I only had a buyers account. I purchased like two items, over a year, paid from my debit card, no problems on my end, ever, and they cancelled my account. They would not give me a reason. I told them fine, who needs to buy in an environment like that, where a buyer is suspended for buying something? They are the craziest bunch of morons I have ever had the displeasure of doing business with.

They also would not give a reason, they also were cavalier in their attitude and it seemed more like a candid camera episode that a real event to me. There are other places to sell. Some are in coin collection web pages, Amazon, and Etsy come to mind. They may not be as user friendly as ebay used to be, but, lets face it, ebay is pretty foul when they choose to pick on someone.

Sorry to hear all of the horror stories. I wish there were some way to sue ebay... but that takes money or an attorney who sues as part of a class action.

Hey Grape, I would also suggest taking ebay to small claims court if the amount is within your state limit on small claims. In California the amount is $5,000. ebay would have to send a representative to court, and they would risk having a treble damages penalty as well as even more punitive damages if a judge feels the way they did business was a willful and malicious violation of the law.

The proposition of costs involved might just send them in to high gear as far as paying you back goes. Then there is the possibility of publicity if a newspaper or a magazine gets wind of the suit. Class action suits are a popular means of applying pressure upon too big for their britches type companies.

They owe me about 400 dollars from my sales. They say that the money will be released within 60 days, but I'm not super confident that this will happen!!!

I will add that I purchased 1 or 2 coins from Grape via CCF without any issues. So I encourage more transactions through this media and recommend Grape as a quality seller.

Wow I am sorry to hear of all the issues some of you are having with ebay. I used to sell there regularly and it was part of my livelihood (stopped roughly 10 years ago). I don't remember the exact reason for stopping, but I think it was in part due to the ever increasing fees and it seemed like buyers could get away with so much.

I really don't even buy there anymore as my account got hacked about 5 years ago. One purchase went through for around $25 (I was able to get the money back from my bank) and then within a week they attempted to buy season tickets to the Boston Red Sox for $55k. To ebay's credit, they flagged it as suspicious and wanted my verification that I intended to buy those. I ended up having to cancel my bank account to be safe which was a huge hassle in itself, but was thankful that ebay flagged the big transaction. For the small transaction that did go through, it was like pulling teeth to get someone from ebay with a half a brain to understand it was a bogus transaction. So glad to not be dealing with them any longer.

While ebay seems to be the big boy on the block and offers the most exposure to your offerings, they are not the only game in town. When I was selling militaria items on their site they restricted my sales so much that I had to give it up. They have certainly become too big for their breeches. I came across a site which doesn't charge listing fees and only a 2% final value fee. This site will not allow me to post a link so you will have to do your own DukDukGo search to find it.
