Would a couple photos of the edge be of any help to anyone in regard to it being an after-mint plating?

I will get some photos posted of the edges. It may not be until next week I'm going out of town but I'll try to get them up today.

I also reached out to a couple of respected error dealers to see what their thoughts are. I will keep everyone posted on what I hear back and thank you all for trying to help me solve this. It's been a lot of fun this is a great community!

Almost looks like they put 2 pieces of tape on the reverse, on halves leaving the center open on the coin to prevent the strike on that part of the coin. Also allowing the center to have an extra plated area, then re-plated the whole reverse again, making the rise on the center that we see raised. I could see that happening. Just to create something that could be blamed as a mint error, but really isn't.
