There is a reason why using stock photos of coins are against ebay policy.

from eBay policy on selling collectible currency
Listings for ungraded coins and currency or raw currency:
- Must include photos of the front and back of the actual item for sale (stock photos are not allowed)

If you see someone selling raw coins on ebay and using stock photos, just report the listing to ebay and move on.

Sap, I didn't know that. I see APMEX using stock photos most of the time on ebay. Their disclaimer "photos in this listing may or may not be stock photos" seems like it would be against ebay policy. But they do use the word "may"

The seller had a disclaimer under the listing " stock photo used for this listing "

You guys want to hear the real messed up part?

I had bid on one prior and lost and I got a " second chance" offer.

I had never even heard of that. So I took the offer, based on a stock photo. Seller had a 99% rating so I figured you " why not?"

Well, I now know why not.

I am shipping it this morning.

Rest in Peace

Totally confused. The original Walker is clearly not MS. You bought this particular one or did not buy it?

And my question is:, Was the coin that was in the listing the same coin that you received ? If NO , then this is why you shouldn't buy or bid on coins with stock photos .

Oof, this is a teaching moment folks.

Never buy a coin with a stock photo.

That coin is not BU, you got ripped off.

New to numismatics....research and learn as much as you can prior to throwing money around willy-nilly, at stock photos at that

Update: coin was returned and full refund given. I tapped the mess out that coin as a form of aggression.
