I've got no issues with MacV. Dealers that sell $500-$1,000 coins for $5-$30 are fine in my book. That, plus making several top pop 1/0 coins puts him on my favorite sellers list.

Regarding the coin cleaner for sale, as others have said many dealers sell coin cleaners, and if you go in the back room, you'll discover that many even use it. I don't like the practice but reality is IMO quite a few clean coins as a regular practice. Ask to many questions and it's like a DEA sting operation and nobody wants to talk.

I hadn't seen this thread before. I have no opinion on this seller, but that 1955-D nickel looks BU to me. The lines on the reverse appear to be die polishing lines.

They should have him arrested for defacing U.S. coinage. Unbelievable how some of these people are still around. Yes open a case with ebay. Defiantly.

Have him arrested? Good grief that's outrageous, egregious and preposterous.

Should let this thread go. I want to delete it but still think some of it is valuable. I'm sure the seller is mostly reliable. I just got a bad batch of cheap coins that were quickly 'enhanced' to make them marketable. Indeed a couple could be BU but when I placed them with my other nickels it is obvious from across the room that they are highly reflective and look nothing like any of my other nickels but look exactly like each other. I take full responsibility for not doing my due diligence in scrutinizing the photos. But like he said in his response to one of my feedbacks, ' who has time to polish a $1 coin.' That was my thought as well. This thread has out lived it's usefulness. Let it die to the archives or I will delete.
