Fascinating. Of course, we're somewhat limited when judging by photos (and not in-hand). I may have released several MS67+ examples of this particular one into the wild last year.
Much fun!

Well - that price was a pleasant and unexpected surprise indeed. Like others, I did not guess based on a high grade TPG certified coin ... but on my poor assumption that this was a nice circulation find. Well played by those who went high on price. As to captaincoffee high $ guess - I defer to jbuck for a ruling ... but as a long term participant of this game I suggest that the provisional guess obtains participation points only. Let's recognize the participation but not award outlandish guesses with real points. Just like me with my poor guesses.

IMHO, this is a fun contest and each person decides if they will be serious, silly, or show some frustration from time to time with an "outlandish" guess. They only really affect their results.

Quote: Then the decision has to be made to define "outlandish" and it becomes another rule. As I said above, I prefer the guesses to be what a member would actually spend on their coin. This is why I changed the guess from $12,000 to $99. This gave him the 5 points for participation. This is generally not a problem. In the past we all laughed and I let it slide, but it has always bothered me so I am now going to call it out when it happens.

Not sure why this would bother anyone. As I said, 25 cents and 50 cents were taken, as well as any other amount I could conceive of possibly paying for the coin. Therefore, I put in a silly high guess...which incredibly (in terms of position) was only one away from the correct amount. Aren't we here just for fun? I can't imagine my guess made this less fun for someone. It's not like I'm on here every week posting ridiculous guesses.

Yes, we are having fun, but as this game has evolved it also serves to educate. I do not hate you for it and I know you were just having fun this round. I just want to try to keep things realistic from now on.

$0.25. A guess that is both funny to me and within the "realistic" ruleset.
