Just a damage coin now

It has to be either an 8 or 9 but in that condition it
shouldn't matter, it is just a cull coin now.

It was an 8 IMHO. In 1933 The 3 was much smaller

For me, this coin would be a spender, but it is fun to figure things out, so I'll bite. This coin looks like it is copper rather than plated zinc, so I'm going to guess that it is dated 1973. That would mean that the top of the seven is most intact and the rest of that digit was damaged.

It for sure can't be 33 because of the reverse , is it a mint error or damaged

It couldn't be a 1933 as it isn't a wheat stalk.

Rather vicious post-strike damage.

Be aware that the 'style' of numbers has changed over the years on Lincoln cents. Not always reliable/effective to match-up numbers across several decades.
