interesting choice putting the text all the way up in the corner like that. also odd that they are abbreviating the word silver with all of that unused space. I wonder if they have plans for that space with other issues.

Quote:i do hope this falls flat. I dont want to have to talk about EAC grading vs PCGS grading VS NGCX grading. I dont want my price guides to have to have pages of additional sheets for different grade standards. most of all I dont want the confusion thats going to arise. hey, ive got this great coin in an NGC 8 holder...whats it worth? what is my NGC 6 coin selling for on ebay? it breaks the jargon, hampers search boolean, and detaches numismatics from its rich history. I dont see an upside, but one might exist. hard pass from me. I agree. IMO the only reason this is being introduced is because NGC believes they will profit.

I'm not a fan of the new scale. But, I'm not as concerned about the new scale as the Vaultbox SCAM with which it is associated. This is about as low as you can go NGC. I'll make my statement by discontinuing to do business with NGC and and send my coins to PCGS if I need grading.

They are catering to the card and comic book collectors.

I am not a fan of the change ... it seems that with so many "past" graded coins using the sheldon scale, it will be a very confusing transition. IMO

Maybe in 50 years these first 10 rating labels will be very rare, more valuable than the coin

Here's a blast from the past. I just received an email from an NGC "partner" called pwccmarketplace, offering a 1995-W proof American Silver Eagle, graded "10" on the new scale. It currently has a bid of $12,000.
