Quote: Dear Customers,
Due to a technical glitch with the system, we have unfortunately oversold the 2023 Vietnam two dollar silver-proof coins.
Due to overwhelming demand, the website crashed a number of times and reset and oversold coins
We did not notice this until it had settled down and we were able to check the website.
Due to this unfortunate error, we will be cancelling and refunding a number of orders.
We are sorry for the inconvenience and error that has occurred.
Kind Regards
Peter, Cathy and Michael Craft This is on Prospect Stamps and Coins Website. Always have tech difficulties whenever I visit this site. Spewing chunks if this happened to you. I am now wondering ,due to the price IS WRIGHT is now selling the standard 'C' mintmark coin at( over $100), if this coin will ever be released as a circulating coin? Any one know? Some coin dealers are unscrupulous. (Swearing is my preferred method to describe this type of preconceived behavior) Please think twice before purchasing in a future coin release.

I see another dealer has stated they will review the orders and any double-dippers will have their orders cancelled. The coins will then be re-sold at MARKET value. Looks like market value is around $100 judging by the sales on ebay. Can't really blame the dealers for not selling at recommended retail prices via their stores or websites when they can get around 7 times as much on ebay. Makes the Mint look like fools for only getting $15! A friend was in the Mint's stupid queue since release time and only received notification that it was his turn to shop after midnight! Of course being asleep at the time meant he missed out. Judging by the comments on the Mint's Facebook page, there are a lot of very disappointed collectors out there. If the dealers can sell coins via their own or ebay's websites in a matter of minutes (and for exorbitant prices in some cases) why does it take literally hours to carry out the same transaction on the Mint's site? They really could and should do better. I think my days collecting NCLT coins are over. I certainly don't enjoy this way of collecting and I won't be paying the exorbitant prices we are seeing on ebay. I will stick to noodling circulating coins from now on. Less stress and frustration.

Just been reading some of the comments on the RAM's Facebook page and there are a lot of very unhappy coin collectors out there - not just for the 'Vietnam' coins but the other releases too. Really hoping the RAM learn something here.
I also find it interesting that a dealer that I have been in contact with is not responding to emails and phone calls can't be connected. I was under the impression they were going to help me with getting a coin but now I can't get any response at all. I can't help thinking there are rumblings in the background. Something SHOULD be happening - the RAM can't keep doing this to collectors and expect us to keep buying NCLT.
With a decreasing NEED for coins the RAM will eventually be minting only NCLT. A bit like Australia Post who now sell more stamps to collectors rather than people posting things. I can't remember the last time I put a stamp on an envelope or even found one on something posted to me. When we move to electronic funds transactions, who is going to bother buying NCLT from the RAM? Non-Circulating Lousy Tokens will be as collectible as Australia Post's 'wallpaper' stamps. At least the junk stamps from Aust Post will be eaaier to get.
As the saying goes, "there are none so blind as those who will not see". The next issue of NCLT is going to be interesting to see if RAM has woken up or or not. Pass the popcorn...

I have just received an email from Allie at the Royal Australian Mint . The new Vietnam $2 coin will NOT be released into general circulation. What does this mean?

The Vietnam coin will be like the 2022 $2 poppy coin. That was not released into circulation.

So am expecting the price of this to eventually surpass the mars coin!! Was thinking about buying at $400 but didn't. Who agrees? Mintage is half that of mars and its the first silver coin and has historical significance.

Perhaps more like the 2012 Gold plated Silver Proof $2 Tennis coin? Mintage of 3,000.

Vietnamese authorities aren't a fan of this coin: Quote: Vietnam has strongly protested against Australia's issuance of a coin with an image of the yellow flag of South Vietnam. Vietnam said the coin defies positive trends in bilateral ties and urged Australia to halt its circulation.
