In 2007, Mila-Cent tried it on some mint-fresh coins and showed the results after a month. They didn't fare well (outgassing from the plastic). http://goccf.com/t/14446 In 2012, we had some more discussion on the topic, including one member's take on a home-made "vacuum sealer" using ziploc bags and a plastic straw: http://goccf.com/t/107143 In 2013, necro-posted into 2016, some folks talked about vacuum sealing entier albums, which seems to work better: http://goccf.com/t/154737 Some more in 2017: http://goccf.com/t/285216 There are other threads where vacuum sealing is mentioned as an option, especially for people living in humid climates.
