How about a story about what could have been. My grandfather, an avid collector, had to liquidate a purportedly complete Indian Head cent collection (for around $40) in the mid-20th century to fund a trip "home" to the Midwest from his new home in the Appalachians. (He made the trip at least once with each of his four children.) Although the IH cents were mostly pulled from circulation (he was born in the 1890s), it would have been interesting to see the key dates. On the bright side, other parts of his collection were passed down to his children and beyond.
