@Hondo_Boguss: OK, my bad. I didn't realize your focus.
In case you weren't aware...
In March 1983, a bill calling for a commemorative silver dollar for the 1984 Louisiana World Exposition was introduced in the House of Representatives. It was referred to the House Committee on Banking, Finance and Urban Affairs, but was never subject to further action
Companion bills for commemorative medals were introduced in the House and Senate for the Exposition in June 1983, with the House bill moving forward to become Public Law 98-136. The Exposition's medals were not struck by the Mint, however. The sponsor - once again, the Louisiana Purchase Exposition, Incorporated - chose to forego the Mint's services and have its medal struck privately; the bronze medals are fairly common.
