Thought I'd chime in here:

My eyes kinda went to a mid-VF grade or so in the OP pictures regardless of the wear on the date since this is one of the weird exceptions in coin grading. Perhaps one could even have a solid XFish grade on said type-1 or 2 SLQs but the date could be very nearly worn off due to differential wear patterns and whatever environment the quarter was subjected to...

Same can actually be said for the early Buffalo/Indian nickel series with the date on a pedestal that wore off so quickly after being circulated around.

I would be fine with VF20. I graded the obverse using the first photo and the date in the photo is almost worn off. My F15 grade was my personal preference as I like my SLQ that are graded VF with full dates. I disagree with the TPG's giving VF 30 and VF 35 to SLQ's without full dates.

Congratulation on getting a VF30 straight grade as it will add value to the coin when the time comes to sell. I have a set of SLQ's in VF and below with full dates. I do not have the 1916.

CoinFrog I didn't ask in the post if you would own it buy it or whats its market value I asked the forum their grade opionions and the nuances of grading weak date examples like the coin in post. I'm sorry you have issues with this coin I'm sorry the TPG graders ( minimum of 2) disagree and I'm sorry I posted this coin.
