Quote: Looks like a "55" on top of a coin that is in an airtight ? This. I believe if you look closely at the capsule, you can see the same nick or grain of salt at the 11 o'clock position.

No, it looks like coin alignment to me Think about that again Dearborn. This would be medal alignment. Are you sure? Why do I see it as a coin turn? (I had to straighten the reverse for it to look correct.) But in coin turn when looking at the obverse the reverse is upside down (unseen) flit it top to bottom then the reverse (now in view) is up-side right and the obverse would be up-side down. (unseen) BUT the '55 cent would be on the bottom not on top as seen in the following image. Now, if it were medal turn the reverse would show up up-side down, BUT again it would be under the Indian Head cent. Here is what the OP did: the OP too 2 cent coins, one an IHC and the other a LWC - placed the IHC in a cap either obverse or reverse up (who can tell) then placed the LWC on top of it slightly off center at the bottom of the cap, then closed the cap and took a picture - THEN opened it back up flipped the LWC over making sure that it was right side up, still at the bottom of the cap then closed it and took the second image. So, when the OP turned the LWC over he 'Coin turned it'

I still think the OP had an Indian Head in an air tight capsule and laid the 55 on top of the top of the capsule, took an image and the flipped the 55 over, on top of the capsule, and took another image. In any case, it is two separate coins.

You are right 1199, my theory still stands but the LWC is on top of the cap, not in it.

John@Dearborn. Looks like you called it. If you notice there's more of the other coin showing past the reverse rim than obverse. Another point about the picture. No one asked for the op to take the coin out of the capsule because of the glare. Or maybe the op is really a great camera operator.
