Oldmike - I posted pictures of the full fonts to see what the rest of them look like on a official 1979 DDO. I did find 2 other 1979s that might be DDOs but no split sheriffs. This coin variety needs more research being its newly discovered. The year 1979 - 1 cent sure has many Machine Doubling variations that can fool many. What I'm finding is the main years that DDO and DDRs are being found that there are more than one variety. They may exist in almost all years but this is uncharted territory in Canadian coins. I inspect 45 pennies at a time together under the microscope and it makes it easy to find them. Also I keep all coins sorted by year in rolls for future examination including the USA pennies - this is very important!! The USA collectors have this stuff down to a science, with every die variety numbered and data based, right jbuck and Errors and Varieties!!

Quote: The USA collectors have this stuff down to a science, with every die variety numbered and data based I do as well, for Canadian doubled die varieties. The main problem I was having is I just don't see Canadian collectors being that interested in going that far down the rabbit hole. When I was writing the first edition of MCDDV I downsized the book by over 150 pages as I found myself going so far in depth when it came to specifics such as die pairs, rotation directions, tilt directions, shift directions that it became a very big conglomerate of information that I was worried readers may get lost in, confused, or just plain bored. As for your 1994 DDO, awesome find! they are very hard to come by. The 1979 DDO is also very interesting as I agree, lots of examples of 1979 with Machine Doubling, however the example you have shown, along with Enyaw, Ondiwave, and oldmike are all the same. They may look different to some degree as Machine Doubling can still be present on doubled die varieties as well.
