Chadcoins & Enyaw, The 1964 extra spine you's both posted is a DDR, I wrote about it a couple years ago here on the CCF, ill have to find the post when I get on my computer. I decided to leave it out of the first edition of Modern Canadian Doubled Die Varieties as I only had the one example in low AU and felt I should hold off until I see more in higher grade, I like to examine at least 2-3 examples of a new doubled die reverse variant (1964 reverse had many) before coming to a solid conclusion. I'll have to dig around in the forum for the post/link, but this is the only example I had at the time.   There is another 1964 DDR that I had decided to leave out due to lack of examples to examine but here is a photo, and it can be found at this link http://goccf.com/t/408232&SearchTerms=1964,branch. The D.G and REGINA have very distinct doubling. I think the 1967 1 cent is one of the best modern Canadian DDOs  Edited by chadcoins

Had a new roll of 1966 5 cents kicking arround. Went through them and found this claw on the rear foot. Enjoy the pics.   Edited by chadcoins

Nice one chadcoins. I had a roll of 1964 nickels and found 16 of these from the same die with an extra claw.  |

These are some of the 1965 PL extra claws. Back about 20 years ago Ken Potter did a write up about them in the Canadian Coin news and not hard to find. I found many of these but there was little interest from collectors. Maybe that will change with the DDs being explored now. In my opinion its long over due.   |
