The 2012 1$ Security DDR enyaw posted is indeed a doubled die reverse variety, there is distinctive notching present on the "C" in Canada, and other letters that Machine Doubling or deterioration cannot produce.

I assume everyone is tired of 2012 security loonie doubling but I had to post the strong DDO I just found. I will try my best to describe it using the description type from John's book. Please point out any mistakes/changes. Visible separation and splitting on the bottom and left side of the letters that make up Elizabeth II. Visible separation and splitting on the top and right side of D.G. Regin including the dots between D and G (but not the beads around the edge). Visible separation and splitting on the bottom and right side of the date. Would the doubling on the right side of the Queen's face be included in the DDO (or Machine Doubling?)?

Nice find Enyaw! Quote:Would the doubling on the right side of the Queen's face be included in the DDO (or Machine Doubling?)? - Yes, the doubled portrait of the queen (along the front of her face) is part of the doubled die. If you have more than one example of DDO for 2012, you may notice that almost all of the major DDO's will have a doubled portrait of the queen as well as the lettering. Oddly enough, knowing that the portraits were doubled on a handful of the major DDO's, I did not include them in my descriptions in the first edition but they have been added to the second.

JohnWayne007, my apologies for "stealing your thunder" on the portrait, looking forward to the second edition.

1 dollar 2012 DDO Another coin I found today with a very nice DD on the obverse, the reverse has a very noticeable die chip in the letter D in Canada, I think I've already seen a similar post somewhere on the forum with this die combination
