They are pretty much equal for wear. The one on the right has a nicer strike.

Pulling out the handy CCF grading guide for this series. Looks like a clear shoulder clasp is what you find in a VF coin. That's true for the coin on the right. Fundamentally, that is one of the markers that determine the deliniation between fine and very fine, not taking into account strike and other factors. Except for the weakly struck areas in the center, to me, the left coin appears to have more detail and less wear. In coin parlance: "appears to have more meat on the bone." Just my humble opinion.

F-15, old cleaning. The eagle is weakly struck on uncirculated versions.

Happy Thanksgiving! This one was graded by PCGS at F15 in agreement with most here. Still stand by my assessment.

Well, I was way off. Value aside, I find the one of the left has much more eye appeal.

mikev50 posted today his PCGS VF20 1807 50c 50/20 and, as you know if you read this thread, I have a PCGS F15 that I feel is undergraded. Therefore there is an opportunity to do a side by side comparison of the two coins and see how they compare.
