I'll guess a 1938 Papua New Guinea 1 shilling George VI, N#7601.

Maybe I missed something but was this coin issued for circulation?

This is as close as we got to answering that circulation question: Quote: Q5 - Is this a coin listed in any of the of the categories or subcategories listed under the "Coins" drop down on Numista which have a character count (excluding spaces) of less than 24? NO

Quote: This is as close as we got to answering that circulation question: Thanks igwt79, but wouldn't "proof" be under 24 characters as well?

The question was worded to try to get this result on Numista: Per MMM's rules: Quote: All coins I will play will be on Numista under "coins". I will not be playing any tokens, medals or banknotes.

Great to see some new players. Quote: I'll guess a 1938 Papua New Guinea 1 shilling George VI, N#7601. Even though Numista has grouped this coin under Papua New Guinea, it was actually issued in "New Guinea" which as per Question 1 contains 10 or fewer letters. Quote: You must have asked a question during the round to make a guess. No lurking with intent to snipe in for the win. You cannot ask a question and make a guess in the same post. I will waive this rule for first time posters. It was included to prevent players from lurking and sniping in at the last second before the players that did all the work to identify the coin could type out their guess. Since igwt79 is out and OzCollection has not posted for 7 hours I will allow Zurie's guess. Zurie has given the correct N# So welcome Zurie and congratulations on the win

I'm so sorry for breaking that rule! I should have read your first post more carefully. I've never played the 20 questions game, and I just clicked on this thread this morning and thought it looked interesting. I'll make it up and ask some useful questions in a future round. Thanks!
