Quote: Sam's club won't give out Cents anymore although they will accept them during payment. I always try to go to the self-checkout stands that take cash. I don't think they've gotten around to re-programming those to round up....yet.

For the second year in a row I did not get all the current year dated coins.
I got a few quarters and no cents or nickels or dimes.
I spent cash the same amount I usually do, purchase wise as in 20-30 times a year not amount wise say $5,000, that I usually do and I live in a state that has a cash law.
A cash law is a law that says business must accept cash as a form of payment.
Cash started to go down during the pandemic and in 2019 NJ passed the first cash law and my state followed a couple years later.
Here is hoping I get all the coins next year.

Quote: Well, I predict no one is going to find any 2026 cents in change. Well jbuck until the next president comes in and uses an executive order to force the mint to mint one cent coins for the years they are not minted. If they can be gotten rid of by executive order they can be brought back by it as well.

12/27/25: I finally found my FIRST 2025 coin! I checked the Coinstar while going for groceries yesterday and grabbed a 2025-D dime out of the reject bin.
Funny thing is that when I went to stick this dime in my folder, I realized I still haven't got ANY 2024 coins yet.
Gosh, time is changing. Of course, I almost always use plastic now to pay for things (so rarely see change), but I figure that just by sure luck I should have found SOME newer coins by now.

As I mentioned before, using self-checkout stands that take cash ensure that there is no rounding up for pennies (so far anyway). I feel bad sometimes when I'm asked if I want to donate the change to some cause and I say no, but I make up for it in donations elsewhere.

On 12/26 I got my first 2025 quarter: a P-minted Althea Gibson.
Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures

By 2029, no one will care and there will be way more important things that will need correction.

The wife brought me home six rolls of nickels and I just got through searching them. I came up with 108 2025P's. If anyone would like a couple, just reach out and I'll put a stamp on it. All but three or four came from extremely used up dies, much deterioration.
