A 1794 Muraiola of 2 Bolognini showing a capped bust of Pius VI on the obverse and St Peter standing on the reverse.
Not Peter but St. Petronius, patron saint of Bologna. Interesting coin!

(...OK, maybe not quite as interesting as the St. Michael one)

Great spot. I'll fix that on the post.

More recent additions coming soon.

[Edit] Apparently I can't modify a post after 24 hours so perhaps a kind moderator could do it.

I checked back to the start of this thread and apparently there were no coins of Pius VIII posted. This was a very short-lived rule of only about a year and a half (31 March 1829 - 30 November 1830) so not that many coin types were issued.

This is the standard 1829 1 Baiocco minted in Rome.

Todays add is this Innocent XII ND (1695) 1 Quattrino showing St Paul (with nimbus) and holding sword on the reverse.
