I can't tell if these three 50c coins are " Greaser" or just PMD. The 1978 obverse has the rim and bust intact but the lettering is barely visible. It has seen a lot of circulation but the difference between the lettering and the rest of the detail suggests to me that this one is a " Greaser". The 1980 I have posted before in another thread. Both sides have missing detail in the same area. However the "AUST" is still just visible and some of the rim is still there. Not sure about this one. The 2006 coin has had something happen to part of the shield. Some of the detail is still faintly visible and I don't see anything that suggests an impact was responsible for what we see. The rest of the coin is in reasonable condition so I am inclined to think that the wear and tear of circulation was not responsible for the missing details. I think this one might be a " Greaser" too. Anyway, I like them so they are in with the "odds and sods" too.

The 1980 coin looks like it has been smashed with a hammer.

Found this example of a planchet flaw in this week's noodle. There are two areas of missing planchet. One from the back of the Queen's ear to the "H" and down to the base of her neck and the other one goes from her chin to the "6" then along the rim and back up to her ear ring. Very happy to have an example like this in my collection.

Hi All coinage. Welcome back. I think those marks you circled are just parts of the wattle branches. I think it's a nice design and a pity it didn't make it into circulation.

A couple of groovy greasers, well at least I think they are greasers. Hard to imagine how the letters could be worn away during circulation without damage to the rim or other parts of the design. What do others others think? Anyway something unusual so into the collection they go.

I found these two coins in yesterday's $2 noodle. A 2008 $2 with two cracks running through the obverse and a coin I haven't seen before - a 2003 10 Kronor. Both are now in the Odds and Sods collection.

Nice lamination on the $2, Sally! And your 10 Kronor is an interesting find. Exchange rate is 10 Kronor = 1.62 Australian Dollars, so someone made a 38 cent profit.
