How about a commemorative coin honoring the Marilyn Monroe centennial in 2026?

I hope not!

IMO, while there's no denying that she was attractive, she was/is not a figure of historical national importance worthy of a legal tender coin.

I'm sure there will be multiple privately-struck pieces to mark the anniversary - and maybe even a coin or two from a South Pacific nation!

Such a commemorative program for the silver anniversary of 9/11 would be far more worthy than most that are proposed and many that were enacted. For anyone old enough to remember, that day will never be obscure as an event or for the thousands of people who died and many more who lost someone who died that horrible day. We can not forget.
