Quote:The more I visit this thread, the more I want to start collecting these SBA dollars... Yeah me too. Monkey you are racking up some beautiful coins. Good for you. I really wish I had the cash to collect full time but I have to buy bullion in order to justify what collecting I'm able to do. I have a nice graded MSD OTW to look forward to. But these SBA's are great coins.

I had a chance before, but after Eisenhower, I lost interest in any modern $1 coin at the time. I'd like to pick up Sacagawea coins as well. Quote: Mission accomplished. Please send money.

Added the 1980-S SBA PR70DCAM. Got this one for $16.50 on an auction, they usually go for $40-45.

Quote: Yes PCGS only, so they are all uniform and fit in the PCGS box. I think you have the right idea, keeping them all in the same type of PCGS holder. My records indicated that I have a few 1979-S SBA dollars stashed away somewhere. I went to look, mixed in with my State Quarters, look what I found.. For some reason, I prefer them inside an NGC holder; they appear more like a museum-quality display. A museum in New York (the American Museum of Natural History) has had its coins sitting inside NGC holders, well, at least 15 years ago, when I lived there.

Can't go wrong either way. Funny they were mixed in with your quarters, that's why they weren't popular..lol I like your NGC holders with the spokes that holds the coin. I've seen some without it and it just didn't look right. I could have gone with either really, but started with PCGS so now my OCD will keep me with them :)

Quote: I could have gone with either, really, but started with PCGS so now my OCD will keep me with them :) That's a good way to go, stay with the same type holders, its a short series, all should fit inside one PCGS box. " OCD" ? Quote: Funny they were mixed in with your quarters, that's why they weren't popular..lol To be honest, SeaMonkey, my collection is a total mess! Lucky I keep a tag on them with paperwork as to what I have, anyway, most of the time. I need to find a suitable app (computer program) to do the job. Some of my collection is in NGC and PCGS boxes, but most are inside plastic 1.5 ' X1' bins (95% of my collection is rated by a grading service).. Quote: I like your NGC holders with the spokes that holds the coin. I've seen some without it and it just didn't look right. You mean like this? I don't like them that way, but I do have a few in that type of " OLD FATTY HOLDER" holders... Pictured below is not my coin, used as an example.

Yup that kind. NGC seems to have alot of variations, even the way the label them.
