I didn't find this one. I just purchased it. It should be arriving within the week. This 1953 coin is a birth year error, just like its new owner! Again, thanks for all of the information, guidance, and sharing.
Coop, what are the chances this is or was done on purpose. We all know the Mint has had some people who did some interesting things. Also, nice error coin, did you also buy yours?
They happen rarely, thus the premium for them. They could have been intentionally done or just a planchet that was left over in a hopper. But they do happen either way. I wonder how many are caught before they get out?
The coin pictured was a gift from a relative. He knew I like coins and gave me this one with some old Large Mexico Copper. He found the other coins in a well and has several hundreds of them. Unfortunatley they are not as valuable as this coin.
