Quote: CollegeBarbers Posted 06/25/2025 10:30 am I would be more concerned about the all the hairlines in the fields of the 1878-CC. The coin overall has a nice cameo effect, but it definitely looks like it's been cleaned, unfortunately. Not cleaned just circulated (But I do believe that my 1880-S is cleaned)

Very nice. Love them... Beautiful coins. Those very early CC's are going to be very expensive...

Well he doesn't have to buy highly graded ones in order to make a spectacular collection. Just assembling such a collection would be a great achievement, assuming your not a rich oil sheik.
When I started I considered doing that with 1 oz Libertards "I love Libertards" but even that is pricey as heck with some years very expensive and hard to find. I canceled it after about 10 which is just as well because its gotten hard to find ANY 1oz Libertards now from any year in any condition.
But were I a young man I'd definitely do a full year/mint MSD set, or at least try too. Considering the fortunes I spent doing foolish things as a young man I could have swung a really good collection by now. As things stand I just want to learn about MSD's all that I can and leave some interesting coins for my kid for when I croak.
If I could do it over again I'd have an American numismatic collection that would make an elephant choke. MSDs most of all. I'm having fun following this posters journey.
