I now think gold will keep going up every day until the stock market starts going down meaningfully.

i hadn't looked at the charts since noon today, but am getting the chance now that I'm home from work...
WOW. just... WOW. I am not at all used to seeing these kinds of frequent leaps skyward. this is incredible. the banksters must be soiling themselves (but probably not... wishful thinking... they make $$ whether it's going up or down, but those shorts gotta be feeling the heat).

Quote: What do you think could/would pull them down? Can be many things: a new banking crisis (already unfolding), increasing consumer loan delinquencies, Fed shutdown dragging on leaving people literarily broke which plunges the economy into a severe recession/depression, etc.

History has shown that when the market tanks, investors flock to PMs (especially gold) as a safe haven. Prices go up.
Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures

A tanking market means everything tanks, including gold as people scramble for liquidity.

Quote: In fact, it screams "TOP!" to me. The financial system has never been in the state it is right now. We will see some paper smack downs of the metals but I doubt very much we are anywhere near a top for metals prices. Until the world gets off a debt based financial system, metals will continue to appreciate.

Friday afternoon, the Bankers are busy slamming things down with more unbacked paper. I wonder how much this cost them in lease rates.
