That's because they don't allow gold in prison

wow! that's nuts! I found an article w/video on yahoo finance from late september that mentioned the 39% quote above. I watched the video, but they really said nothing about that quote. the accompanying article mentioned it and spoke of it in terms of "untapped investment potential" or something similar.

if that's true, I wonder where they've been for the past few years. I'm glad I didn't miss the boat.

Was at a country estate auction over the weekend and these high silver precious metals prices seem to be doing little to deter buyers. It was a feeding frenzy. Common Morgan's in worn condition selling for $55-60, silver halves selling for $20 each, silver dimes getting $4 apiece.

Still rising. According to the price charts at APMEX.com, Gold is now at $3675 and silver just hit $49. I'm thinking today's the day when gold hits $4000 (if only briefly), but we'll see...

All right, things are falling back down a bit, so today might not be the day after all. It will be interesting to see what happens with overnight trading in the world markets, though. I wouldn't be at all surprised to wake up tomorrow and find that gold hit $4000 while I was sleeping.

Does look like the only way is up.
This is getting bad, some of the coins I was after are now worth more for the metal than the scarcity. They are scarce. And I see them being bought as bullion.

i am of the mind that gold has a lot farther to go. silver, too.

I'm up overnight, typically getting to bed between 4 & 6am, EST. I watch the markets for a while on the overnight.

lately it's been stunning to watch what metals prices are doing. stunning, but not surprising.

i say gold continues it's upward rip and hits $5,000 before next october, barring any banker interference. yeah, I know how crazy that sounds, but the trend is your friend.

edit, 2:02am tuesday:
