i don't have any plan for selling any of my stash. I'm not interested. I'm a HODLer. the time to sell will come, but it's not here yet. if that time never arrives, or if I croak, or if the time to sell comes and I don't... so what. I'm having a good enough time just holding it and watching it appreciate. I'm not going to go out of my way to sell any of it, at least for now.
however (and there is a minimal chance this will happen), if someone makes me an offer, a decent offer, a serious offer... I would at least consider it.

For every buyer there must be a seller Only bought two tiny gold coins in the last numismatics fair I visited. But it was good. They were rare ones I had been searching for years. High prices have dried supply of good gold coins here. Even silver ones are scarcer and getting to stupid prices. People who have them do not want to sell while they see the price going further higher. I see on sale mostly damaged and common coins as bullion. Some high priced rare ones are appearing. I think their owners wanted to exchange them for bullion. Noticed someone inquiring about platinum in a shop while I was there looking for some hammer-struck medievals. The few platinum coins produced here are extremely rare on sale so this was someone looking to buy metal. I hope people don't start buying billion coins for the silver content.

At the current prices, I've stopped stacking and other than some currency, I completely stopped. I don't want to sell either. Its a tough place to be. Last time this happened in 2011 I completely stopped for 6 years and got all my astronomy gear. I'm going to just sit back and watch for a while I have enough coins that I'm happy.

Quote: It's a tough place to be fully with you hfjacinto... Parts of my collection are more liquid than other parts, like it is easier to sell off more of what we collectors consider junk silver or gold worth at or just above melt. I still will continue to stack silver in literally any form because I have areas around that I can source silver at below melt prices and resell at a profit for other coins I may need for my collection. Other parts of my collection are silver and gold coins that are worth a bit more than melt, or have numismatic value more than the melt value, so more than likely I will hold onto those coins unless I sell off some of those to upgrade or add on in the future.

I am with hfjacinto. Neither buying nor selling at the moment. But if gold drops significantly, I will buy more. If gold shoots to $10,000 tomorrow and the Dow sinks, I sell gold and buy more shares. It is not very difficult: "Everything is Relative".

Are you not worried the banknotes will fade over time?

Quote: Are you keeping them in a dark box? I do. They are also in a safe and the sleeves are all made of Mylar which is archival grade. This is an old picture, I sold off a few of these and moved them all to new mylar. They were in hard plastic before which took up a lot of space. The slabbed are in a sealed plastic case.
