thanks SallyG

it looks to me as though the 2001 50c on the left has the fatter lettering, But once Christmas has been and gone, I'll have a good look at my 2001 Fed 50c coins. I'll be especially looking at the same state(s) rather than comparing different states. It'll be an interesting test as all of my Fed coins are in at least true UNC condition and at the time - from memory - I found that quite a few had varying degrees of raised rims.

thanks for joining in

those Memorial " The Creatures of the Deep " are great concept coins.

As for the 1992 $1 Mob of Kangaroos ... they have the exact same mintage as the 2002 and 2003 $1 Mob of Kangaroos.

thanks for the tip re 2001 50c coins with fatter lettering, SallyG.

As for this thread of " what you consider to be some of your valuable coins" I was anticipating someone would write that they have, for example, a 1979 50c with the double bars in Ch Unc, which I always found to be much harder to find in Ch Unc than either the 1980, or the 1966 50c with the double bars.

Anyone else have something to contribute ?

Speaking of the "Creatures of the Deep" lunch kit sets, I saw one advertised the other day for $350 - yes, no typo, $350! I don't normally buy such sets. However, I liked the design of the obverse and bought a couple to add to my collection. Never expected them to become that valuable!
