Quote: Oh, and I looked at the placement of the mint mark, which immediately eliminated a couple dies. Including VV die 1 That's what I was looking for. That just helps get rid of many of the listings. Wexler didn't show the mm placement on all of them, which I never understood, but you can get it down to just a few by doing this. So you have 2 and 3 on VV and maybe 8, 9 and 12 on Wexler (these may be crossover listing too). It is an uphill battle though, between it being a zincoln and most of the markers being really small. I only did one side by side that looks really close, yours with Wexler's die 8.

The full reverse pic is of a regular '88 cent. I enlarged it and it's not a flared G.

-makecents- Quote: That's what I was looking for. Had a feeling that might be what you wanted to hear! Guess it means I'm starting to learn a little from everyone here! Realized I hadn't added that to my first response. Now you've made it, that it'll drive me nuts for a while. Guess I'll have to look again later!

When I zoomed in on the full reverse pic it looks like a regular G. It may not be the pic may be too grainy to be sure.

Durwwod, Really don't understand needing to zoom in on full pic - I included 2 close-ups. Unless you're inferring that the pics are from 2 different coins.

Nice work on the attributions so far Snailking (at the prompting with Makecents help) And This is quite clearly a flared G on this cent.

Thank You, Dearborn I appreciate everyone's help and "prompting" It definitely has all helped lead me to looking for answers myself first, then asking for help second.

One of the worst bosses that I ever had once said to me, "Never ask a customer a question that you could have answered yourself." That idea has stuck with me for thirty years and served me well. Most of the other things he said were hot garbage, though.
