Looking into what coin I want to purchase next. I am looking at either the 1884, 1887 or 1883. The majority of the coins from 1883-1899, in VG/XF, with the exception of the no cents 1883, are a bit more costly than the coins from 1890 and later. I ordered an 1899 in G/VG condition recently. They are using stock photos, but eh, for 5 bucks... I'll take a risk. This is the 1887 I've been looking at on ebay, for 34 bucks. Here is the 1884 I've been eying up, but this one cost a little more. Around 38 dollars. Any thoughts from anyone? There is another 1884 from another seller I enjoy using quite a bit on ebay for around 30 bucks, but it doesn't look as nice. The first one definitely looks better IMO.

Quote: The first one definitely looks better IMO. Ewww, but the scratches... I would keep looking.
Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures

thanks, dearborn. I've been concentrating on the coin series that are interesting to me. So Lincoln cents, and all of my nickel adventures. The Liberty nickel, I think, just happens to be my favorite design, though. It's almost become a hobby for me browsing and searching for nice looking V nickels for the right price. I recently purchased an 1899 for like 5 bucks in VG condition. It's a good hole filler for that price IMO until I find another nicer one. I really need to get up to the coin store one of these days, and have a look at what they got. Quote:I agree. Exercise patience. But I don't want to Yeah, I get it, though. For expensive purchases, I want to find the right coin.

I've recently decided to add some labels to the album. It's not done, though, as I haven't yet figured out a way to figured out a way to add labels to the small spaces under certain spots. For the most part, I decided to model it around Dansco's album. However, I've opted to use the last two spots for what I'd call "reverse 1 and reverse 2." Basically, reverse 1 being no cents and reverse 2 being with cents. The labels are just printed on my PC and taped in place. I've debated about whether I even need/want to use labels, but it kind of makes it feel more "complete" as an album. Some duplicates All I got for now!

Looking good. As for the smaller areas, you could trim the label then add tape to them and then trim the tape. Tweezers help in placing them straight if you have a pair.

Thanks, seamonkey. Well, it's not necessarily that. I taped all the labels. It's more so the time that it takes to trim the tape smaller for those spots. I thought maybe I could find some kind of specialized tape somewhere, but just haven't looked into anything yet. Haven't given it too much thought.

I bought some clear printer labels but haven't gotten around to trying it out yet.

Thanks, jbuck Got this today in the mail. Eh, it's a nice hole filler for now for the 5 bucks that I spent for it. I will get a nicer example later on. 1899 - Guessing this would probably be around Good condition Starting to fill up a bit Despite being a very short series, I really like it and the coins look good together in a set IMO.
