Thank you all for good answers and feedback. I agree and appreciate the feedback. This one would be best to stay away from. Quick update, the auctionfirm was close to work so no shipping so I bought it against better judgement. It was slightly better than expected imho. And I thought it would be interesting for you to have a update. Paid 47 dollars. Melt13. Have not acetoned

That looks like a completely different coin. I think you may have gotten yourself a huge bargain. With these photos, my guess is it most likely is genuine and grades AU-58. Photos sure can fool you.

When auctionhouses that isn't specialised in coins sell they tend to write sparse desciptions combined with lifeless pictures. They didnt even write out san francisco. Will put it in acetone tomorrow I think to conserve

Wow!!! Night and Day!! I can't believe it's the same coin. I like the toning. It would look great in an album as is. @Slider23 or anyone who may know....Can you recommend a book or a site that has all the die pairings for every year Standing Liberty quarters were minted?

Thank you guys for kind words. I was very lucky as pictures told one to stay away. Not many ppl collect these over the pond. Yes the diepairs would be interesting very little info online. Is it the small mintage that makes these coins expensive? All the guys in usa making sets that need to be completed?

Thank you fortune favours the bold. But we also have a saying here in sweden that goes: even a blind hen can find a grain of wheat Is this a coin one should slab even if it details?

slab the coin and I typically dont recommend that. it will most likely details however value wise. detailed coins can sell for 20-80% less than their value. this is such a nice example maybe the low end 20-25%. I think its mid AU. I doubt they would assign a numeric value though. repost if you send it in. someone messed up big time when they used those photos to sell it and pricing it at a ridiculous price

What intrigues me most is how it ended up here I scandinavia. Yes but also seller didnt do their homework. So I guess they inherited it and didnt pay anything for it . Ngc prices a au55 at 1100 and pcgs 2100 thats a big spread. Will try pcgs this time if I send ngc is so slow. What annoys me is that US coins cant be sent in together with world coins
