Thinking about the content posted above... Have visited the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, the Korean War Veterans Memorial, and the WWII Memorial several times while passing through DC. Had an uncle who was aboard the battleship USS Pennsylvania at Pearl Harbor on 7 December. Pennsylvania was in dry dock--took some casualties. I served on active duty a while back...

God bless the families of those who paid the ultimate price for the rest of us. Every time I see the Arizona memorial I think of my grandfather's brother who died that day and rests inside the ship.

USS Arizona... My uncle was a member of the aviation 'department' (floatplanes) on the Pennsylvania and knew some of his Arizona counterparts. It was a small, close-knit group.
