Quote: The beauty comes from not having the required coin elements - denomination, date, IGWT, Liberty, Eagle, etc. I can agree with what you're saying, I guess you'd say based on on just appearance. Otoh there is something interesting or objectively enhancing about having the denomination. Are the gold ones the first non circular coinage for the US? It would have been cool for that silver ones to have been the first. I know they did the dished shaped Apollo and baseball coins. Still circular though.

"As part of the U.S. Mint's 2026 numismatic celebration of the nation's semiquincentennial, proposed designs for a series of 24-karat gold $250 and $125 gold coins and .999 fine silver medals contemplated to be struck in the shape of the Liberty Bell were reviewed and recommended Nov. 19 by the Citizens Coinage Advisory Committee." At least they're legal

What a joke on these. They could be 75% off and I still wouldn't buy it. This 250th anniversary really missed the mark. Don't even get me started on the bill...

The U S Disappointmint has clearly made a Desperate and Slimy unaccountable move charging $750.00 for a 1/2 oz of Silver. Silver spot being $64.00/oz .. How Was this gouging price decided upon.. The classic corporate Greed in this case does NOT justify paying or Charging that Exorbitant fee.....

I've been known to purchase a commemorative coin or medal from the Mint every now and then, but this medal won't be finding its way into my cart. Much too expensive for a 'gimmick' - even if it is for the 250th Anniversary!

Did I miss something, or did this issue come from out of nowhere? Is our new mint director responsible for this? I can't say I'm a fan. I'm trying to purchase all of the gold issues coming out this year, but I'm passing on this one. I wonder if the grading services are gnashing their teeth trying to come up with a holder that will accomodate a liberty bell?

I didn't get an email that's referred to in a prior post. Does it give sny details beyond what's on the mint site?

I wonder if they've ever used these membrane type holders? I've seen them, never used one.

What's the diffrrence between item 26LB at $10,050, and item 26LC at $19,600? Likely I'm blind as my wife used to say, but I don't see it delineated on the webpage anywhere. I'm guessing LB is unc., and LC is proof maybe. Gives me the impression this was a rush job, or maybe this whole thing was meant for April 1st release and they were slow to get it off in time?

While I'm at it, I'm very disappointed about the house hold limit. I wanted to get maybe a dozen of each to serve as holiday gifts for friends and family.
