Welcome to the game, coincollectingkid! Where's Bruce Dickinson? Yes, the Bruce Dickinson? Quote: I guess I didn't read the rules too closely. I have always assumed it was 3 days & a minimum of 8 guesses. Going by the 8 post minimum could influence the outcome of the game. I am glad you brought this up. Usually my posting of this is seen as a hint by the round host, but I know Nod is busy this week, so I will give him a pass. I would much prefer the round host to specify ahead of time what the duration is. The minimums were set because a previous host in a previous season set the deadline in hours and only a few guesses were in before the reveal. This made more than a few potential participants upset, and rightly so. That said, since Nod has handed over the results for me to post, this round will end on Monday Morning, 27 July 2009, at 8AM EDT (Forum Time). Oh, look who showed up to say hello and update the "Guesses So Far"... "I'm tellin' ya, the Round 2 Guesses are..."

Quote: So on your opening round, would the round have extended if there were less than 8 guesses by the closing time on Sunday evening? I do not believe we have ever gone three days without getting at least eight guesses. If that happened, then Guess the Price would have been CANCELED! No, seriously, if that were the case, I would have just accepted there were fewer players. Otherwise, the round would have to be scrapped and started anew. Since it was a live auction that expired after the deadline, someone could have found the actual price and used it. For rounds that use actual purchased coins, like the current one, it could be extended if necessary. In reality, three days is more than enough time for the regular players (the ones that would feel cheated by a short round) to get their guess in. If anyone ever feels like they might miss a round, speak up and we'll work with you!

This made more than a few potential participants upset, and rightly so. I remember that fiasco. I believe the host was excited to be playing & didn't consider that people would be excluded. Maybe the rule could be changed next season to something like: Rounds must last 3 to 5 days, if the round host doesn't specify an end time then the round will end 3 days after the host posts the round.

Well call me confused. I could have sworn the coin for that round was ebay item # 320401882316. It sure looked like the same one.
