I really wish the colors of the Walking Liberty reverse showed in the picture. It's beautiful in hand. The obverse has very little to no toning. I cherry picked this one out of the junk silver bin at my LCS. I assume this is one of those that sat in a drawer untouched for a long time and only toned on one side.

Tone is tough to capture in photos. I'm still struggling with it myself. My avatar is a perfect example of how bad I can be. It is much nicer in hand.

Nice run of toners BTW!

I can barely catch the coin in the photo. Hats off to those who have managed to show their beautiful toning.

It can be very difficult and frustrating to photograph color well for sale but it's relatively easy to be good enough for ccf. But what I have found from my experimenting is that I can now judge the progression and strength of color of a toned coin from a bad pic almost by instinct fairly well. That said if I am planning to sell a toner of significant value I'd want a professional pic like from truview, John at vss, or blucc. To both increase the sales price and as a bonus to the buyer

I wonder why proof franklins tend to rim tone with that speckled black pattern. Seems to be the standard for them
