Most people sell in qnty of $50 or $100 Face Value. You can actually ship $100 in a USPS Flat Rate box for $10. The going rate right now is about $140 for $100 face.

It is illegal to melt them in the United States. You could probably find many folks in Canada that would buy them to melt or exchange them for Canadian pennies which have a slightly higher copper content and CAN be melted down in the U.S..

But remember it is illegal to export more than a certain amount of them as well. Can't remember if the limit is $5 or $50 face value.

I believe it is $5.00 unless it is "numismatic" and I am not sure what that means. I want you to think about something. We as Americans can take $10,000 in paper money out of the country and only $5.00 in coin money? Makes you wonder what the government thinks of our paper money doesn't it?

Copper pennies are just a neat way to save money regardless of the profit potential. The only problem is they take a lot of room to store and weigh a ton (literally). http://cgi.ebay.com/1000-lbs-1-2-To...82_W0QQitemZ a href= https://www.coincommunity.com/go/link.asp?target=https://www.ebay.com/itm/-/250407281728 target= _blank rel= nofollow 250407281728 /a QQcategoryZ31373QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp4340.m263QQ_trkparmsZalgo=SIC&its=I%252BC&itu=UCI%252BIA%252BUA%252BFICS%252BUFI%252BDDSIC&otn=10&ps=63

Anybody building a couple million sets of pennies will certainly need common date copper memorial pennies Sincerely, John Leckrone
