some old uniface French notes... 15 sols   10 livres   1st year of the republic I believe. 3 ruble notes from 1905, the year the Japanese defeated the Russians in the Russo-Japanese war... like the security features on the note I didn't expect to have existed then.   |

Hi,
the mark is from a bank that the bill identified as a counterfeit. I found this very interesting and I do not saw such counterfeit bills with this Quality.
France is not really my area but this bill is very nice.
I collect the USA, Scotland,Northern Ireland and Germany.
Of course I have a bit from Canada, the 1954 Series is a sensation.

Hajduk The French note may well have been considered a fake mistakenly. km#153 does list your note for 1978 only as having a plain "CENT FRANCS" in the upper left corner. A subsequent printing (#154) for 1978-1979 (with the same signatures) has "CENT FRANCS" with diagonal lines within the wording. I have the same French bill marked fake,,,,mine may be fake also...I'll look if it is the same ...(Mine has folds in it)..I will hav to look at site above too...I hav seen the Krause PaperMoney Cat..huge...

Yes there is a watermark but
I think the watermark is printed on the paper.
The print quality was good enough for a supermarket but not for a bank. The paper is very similar the original.

Thank you, the bill is in Gem UNC Condition. I bought him in the USA. In Europe he is much more expensive. This Falkland perfect UNC bill I got yesterday from a friend in Germany.  Edited by hajduk
