Yes Melbourne certainly has been flooded with 2010 $2 I was going to mention that I got my first CHOGM in change yesterday.......but since that is a 2011 coin it would be inappropriate in this thread

I find it quite peculiar that here it is, almost 2012, and some 2010 coins are only just starting to appear in circulation.
life is a mystery to be lived not a problem to be solved

I've been browsing through my latest Maccas book (as you do) when I came across the 2010 $1 mintage figure of 3.9 million. If this figure is correct then this would make it the lowest mintage $1 coin that the RAM have ever issued into circulation. It would definitely be worthwhile hanging onto a few nice ones.

Quote: I find it quite peculiar that here it is, almost 2012, and some 2010 coins are only just starting to appear in circulation. Well, now it is well into 2012 and I have just bought an Armaguard bulk $100 bag of 2010 10¢ from the Bank. Packing date on the label is 11-04-2012! How long do they sit on them? I have kept 10 x $4 bags for now and sorted out the other $60 for mark free examples. That reaped me just forty, near perfect coins (I was being very fussy). Jeff

I presume they site on them till they are needed, 1, 2, 5 years if need be.

Maybe its just coincidence but I've had armaguard bags (particularly $200 of 50c) that seem to have a high percentage of close to UNC or UNC coins of an older year.
Two weeks ago I got $200 that had lots and lots of 2004 UNC. I'm sure this was their first adventure away from the mint or armaguard.
