okay, after reading posts on this thread of successful dime roll hunting, I decided to give it a shot. I figured, why not? my nickel and cent boxes haves been pretty dismal lately. picked up dime box and when I hopped in the car I decided to take a peek. the brinks box had nothing in the top two rows. I did see a solid white line in a roll about halfway down. it's either a canadian a US silver dime. got the box home, and went right for the alleged silver line. I was hoping for silver but feared it would be canadian (no offense, canadians!) As I popped out the coin, I heard the distinct *ping* of silver. 1947 Roosie. other than that single piece, no other silver in the box. I did manage to fill the remaining 6 holes in my clad Roosevelt book. was one silver dime worth $250 out of pocket? yes. I'm going back for another box tomorrow.

Jedichef, you may be pleasantly surprised by dimes. I quit this month, but have found about 80 silvers so far this year. It's fun, and the variety is great.

The last box I did had a silver dime showing at the end of a roll. The box turned out to have nine silver dimes, all Roosevelt. Needless to say this was my best box ever!

I'm definitely going to hit some dime boxes for a while. I've still got 9 holes left in my silver Roosevelt book to fill. I'm hoping to at least fill half of them by the end of the year.

I recently checked a roll of Canadian dimes for the heck of it and I got a 1967 silver mackerel! Luck strikes! Made it all worth it, so I'm gonna try again.

picked up another box, mix of brinks and customer wrapped. pulled 2 silvers, 64 and 47S. both silvers were in the brinks rolls. nothing in customer wrapped.

Just went through a String & Sons box. I found 3 silvers, 53-S, 61-D, & 64-D The 64-D was so shiny it looked like it was minted yesterday. I have been finding silver in about every other box, usually 1 or 2 coins at most.

I have been averaging 2 silver dimes a box for almost 2 years now. I would say almost a third of them have been 1964's. Most of them AU/BU. I have noticed in my area the CWI boxes produce way better than the brinks boxes. So I search CWI exclusively.
Customer wrapped rolls usually do as good, but, too many are a coin or two short. I have accumulated over $95 face so far.

2 per box average would be great. i'd do a box a day if I knew I could numbers like that. but because my work schedule is so unpredictable, I only get to do 2 boxes a week...if that.

picked up another box of dimes today. going through the rows of rolls it looked like a skunker. after I took all the rolls out I caught a glimpse of solid white. turned out to be a 63D. only silver in the box. got the rest in a coin deposit bag and took it straight to my dump bank. 4 silvers in 3 boxes, not bad. will pick up another box on thursday.

I unofficially quit dime rolls this month, as it's detecting season. I was searching about $3k a month. I happened by one bank where I would pick up about $1k in hand rolled every month, and someone was poaching my bags....I beat them to the punch this time, and only scored 1 keeper, 1900 Canadian. My total for 3 months is about 60 Roosies, 5 mercs, and about 15 Canadian silvers (10 being pre-'65).

Just did a box today: 4 roosies and a bent 42S merc! That's my best box so far and my first merc from circulation. I've got another box to go through tonight so we'll see what that has. The draw of big find from halves generally takes up my time, but I've been more successful with dimes so far.
